The next stop is Kartchner Caverns State Park

A very nice park – and after arrival we extended one more day

The Ocotillos are in full bloom here – and the size is amazing

It’s a dark sky area here and with clear sky we can enjoy it a lot.

Oh, can we really hear like a bat now ????

Amazing cave tour of these cave with an interesting history as it was discovered in 1974, when cavers found a narrow crack in the bottom of a sinkhole.

We visited the cute town of Bisbee and took a mine tour.

The mine tour was very interesting – as we had a tour guide who actually worked here in the past and also the father of one lady on the tour worked in this mine.

A short visit to the “touristy” town of Tombstone – known for its Wild West history.

Next stop is the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument – located at the border to Mexico.

… and again – the best of all … we have the campground almost for ourselves !!

The Saguaro dominate the dessert landscape – soooo beautiful and unusual.

But the park is named after the Organ Pipe Cactus – which only exists in this area.

… and some of them are huge too.

Are these Saguaros twins??

… hmmm and our car looks like a little toy car !

Nice trails in the park … one to the “double” arch.

And yes … the park is on the border to Mexico.
Looking at the “beautiful” wall and the happenings at the border gives us goosebumps! We saw and met more border control then migrants. We reported two young families with babies walking along the border in 100 degrees – 4 miles to go – to the border control point – where they will be processed … and looking for a better life.
