1250 miles from home (on I-10) we met our friends Michael und Verena.From the last campground – 560 miles later we are arriving at Brazos Bend State Park (Ok, ok – yes – we did not follow the rule RV-3/3/3 rule !!!)Got a nice shady campsite.And our first visitor is the Barred Owl – Hooo hoooo “who cooks for you” is her call !!!Many many gators here !! … and we did not feel that we wanted to play with the Cottonmouth.Mister Bullfrog – he wasn’t close by – but loud !!!Every accessible limb in the park is taken 😉Fox SquirrelAnd many many birds !!! This one is a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron Blackbilled Whistling-DuckWhite-faced IbisBlack-necked Stilt.Indigo Bunting.. and wildflowers everywhere.The tower ….… overlooking the huge swampIn the nature center – we did get to pet a 9 month old (!) gator baby.Michael & Verena visited for a short walk.… and lunch. They brough very yummy Brats from Billy’s Bourdin & Cracklings in Louisiana.We discover a lot of the long trails in the park by eBike – they are just perfect!On the way to the next stop – one of the Texas Border Patrol stops.… with this camera setup – we assume they are “seeing” a lot before the check our resident cards 🙂 The next stop is Seminole Canyon State ParkWe have been here before – and this time did not have time to take the tour to the huge cliff overhang, the shelter holds some of Texas’ most spectacular rock art (pained 4000 years ago).
